DIY Facials
Having dry skin can be uncomfortable. It makes your skin itchy, rugged and easily irritated. If the threat of COVID-19 hinders you in visiting your favorite facial and skin spa, then these DIY facials will do the magic for your dry and oily skin:
- Honey and avocado masks for DRY skin
Honey and avocado are a powerful combination as honey can moisturize your skin and also contains anti-inflammatory benefits. Avocados also have natural oils that can help in making your skin soft. To create the mask, mash ¼ of a whole avocado and mix it with 1 teaspoon of honey and olive oil (or any type of oil that you have on hand). Spread the mixture evenly on your face and leave it for at least 20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it with warm water. Do this daily and you will be surprised with how your skin will improve.
- Bentonite clay and green tea masks for OILY and acne-prone skin
Bentonite clay is effective for soothing your skin and can suck the oil out of your face. To make this mask, steep 1 cup of green tea for 5 minutes. Put 2 tablespoons of tea into a bowl. Dissolve ½ teaspoon of Epsom salt in the tea. Mix 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay and stir carefully. Spread the paste you created over your face and wait for 15 minutes before rinsing it with warm water.
DIY facials for dry and oily skin also include banana and honey facial masks, blueberry and yogurt honey masks, cucumber and aloe Vera masks. The possibilities of creating DIY facials can be endless. With a little experiment and mix and match of ingredients, you can find a combo that will work best for your skin.
